Volunteers are the heart beat and breath sounds of a vital not-for-profit organization.
They give, not because it's their job but out of personal choice.
They perform tasks that otherwise might fall by the wayside because of lack of time or talent. Without volunteers we
would never have made it this far and would never be able to move forward. We've selected some quotes that sum up the
role of volunteers and gratitude to them.
Volunteers are not paid -- not because they are worthless, but
because they are priceless. (Unknown).
Those who can, do. Those who can do more, volunteer. (Unknown)
The world is hugged by the faithful arms of volunteers. ~Terri
Guillemets
Volunteers do not necessarily have the time; they just have the
heart. ~Elizabeth Andrew
You make a living by what you get. You make a life by what you
give. ~Winston Churchill

November 6, 2011 was a spectacular autumn day with some Doxy's volunteers taking full advantage of the weather for a
trail ride and some wonderful picture taking by Diane. Marilyn, Barb, Ann, and Diane featured riding through the woods.
Josephine gets Pepper ready and then mounts him for her first trail ride with Marilyn.
Annual Volunteer Fun Ride and Swim, July 30, 2011
We are seeking skilled horseback riders to volunteer their time. The riding done will
further the training of the horses being prepared for adoption. The volunteer work will include arena riding as well
as trail riding on green horses. You must be a confident and skilled rider to take this on. If you are interested in
volunteering please send an email to doxyshorserecovery@yahoo.com. Thanks!
We continuously seek volunteers to assist with grooming, feeding and general care
of the horses. You may not be a rider but love horses and being around them.
Doxy's has volunteers that work with the horses as well as for the horses. We need folks to help with
fund raising activities, maybe just being a good "photographer" and being able to email pictures to us or working at a benefit
for a few hours. Volunteers come in all ages, sizes and shapes with a variety of gifts and talents.
If you're interested in volunteering with the horses we ask that you provide us with a schedule of when you're available
- daily, weekly, monthly or whatever you can provide and be able to stick to it. This helps us plan to make the
most of your volunteered time and to ensure you're getting the maximum benefit out of your time.
